This is a 6 week plan for Bailey Hundo racer. The plan starts May 6th, six weeks before the race on June 17th! The “Hundo” requires climbing prowess, combined with high speed descending ability and this plan works to target both. The plan is designed for athletes who work a full time job, with short structured workouts Monday-Friday and longer endurance rides on the weekend. You will build aerobic endurance and power with Sweet Spot, and threshold efforts, including long rides on the weekends. There’s even a “Bailey Hundo Simulation” in Week 5.

I’m a huge fan of structured training and have worked through several of FasCat’s training plans. For this year’s Hundo I stacked the 18 Weeks of Sweet Spot plan with this one with the goal of an age group podium. The plans are easy to follow and strike a great balance between being challenging and doable. There were quite a few workouts where I finished and felt like I barely made it through but none so hard as to feel demoralized after not being able to complete it. I ended up on the top step in my age group and top 20 overall and couldn’t be happier.

Being relatively new at longer-distance MTB races, I used this plan to prepare for the 2017 Bailey Hundo. Plain and simple, it worked, and I surprised myself by finishing 3rd in my age group. The plan was easy to follow and I had no time fitting in the training with a full-time job. It was an efficient and fun way to train.
This is the second training plan I have bought from Fascat and I will definitely be coming back for more!

This was my first training plan and I loved it. It explains precisely what to do and taught me how to train using zones, which has helped me a lot. The only thing I wish is the descriptions were better and more specific to help you know which level to buy (difficult if you’re a beginner and don’t know what category racer you would be).
