How pledges and the closing work

We are opening our next round to the athletes who train with us, so you can own a piece of the coach and have a say in what we build next.

We are developing AI Analytics for Coaches, Teams and Athletes.

CoachCat is the R&D AI partner of CANYON//SRAM, a UCI Women's WorldTour team.

The team's 18 riders generate more power, heart rate and race data than any staff can read, and they are drowning in it. We analyze years of that data to find the gaps in training, identify talent in prospective riders, predict power outputs and make training suggestions, all aimed at one goal: winning the Tour de France Femmes in 2027.

One rider's season in a single chart. Stacked bars show hours per week in each training zone, a white line shows Level across the year, and labels mark the classics, altitude camps, national championships, the Tour and Worlds.
One rider, one season in a single view: weekly hours by training zone, Level, race blocks and altitude camps.

A training platform ready to go toe to toe with TrainingPeaks and Strava

Thousands of athletes in 72 countries love it and rely on it for their training, every day, on the web and on their phone.

The market is sneaky big

One on one coaching alone is a nine figure market, and most athletes have never been able to afford it. The deck sizes it and shows what winning it looks like.

In the deck

Three revenue streams

App subscriptions, one on one coaching, and a platform for coaches. Revenue, margins and forecasts are in the deck.

In the deck

How we acquire customers

Pro athletes, partnerships, content and social, tied together by a content and email flywheel that keeps the cost of a new customer low. The real costs are in the deck.

On this page

Three hires and what they build

A CTO, candidate secured. A CMO, already hired. A content director. Together they build the coach platform, the growth engine and health features.

The five year view

Where we think this goes, and the recent deals in our space that shape that thinking.

We are cash flow breakeven and seasonally profitable. This capital is fuel, not oxygen.

How we got to this start line

Twenty years of coaching came first. The software came second. That order is the reason it works.

“Strava AI vs. CoachCat, CoachCat is much better in detail and forward leaning in training.”
Bryan V. · Orange, California
  • 2000s

Frank Overton develops Sweet Spot Training, serves as Director for the US National Women's Team and builds FasCat Coaching, working with Tour de France level pros and masters athletes.

  • 2021

The first cyclists invest in the idea of putting that coaching into software.

  • 2023

We build CoachCat, an AI coach trained on two decades of FasCat coaching and backed by real coaches. Two of our engineers spent 10 years building TrainingPeaks.

  • Today

Thousands of paying athletes in 72 countries. R&D AI partner of CANYON//SRAM, a UCI Women's WorldTour team. Cash flow breakeven and seasonally profitable. Year one retention has nearly doubled. The exact numbers are in the deck.

  • Next

This round pays for marketing, a platform that lets other coaches run their business on CoachCat, and a bigger engineering team. We build the team to grow the company.

Built lean. Ready for fuel.

Everything on this page was built by two engineers, our coaches and Frank.

We reached breakeven without a big check behind us. That took discipline. Every week we chose what mattered most and said no to the rest.

What you see above is the result: twelve device connections, more than 100 training plans and 300 workouts, longevity and health coaching, nutrition, and a coach that can analyze your data to uncover rich insights.

Engineering capacity

A CTO and a bigger team, so we can work on more than one big thing at a time.

The coach platform

Finish the tools that let other coaches run their business on CoachCat, with AI analytics built in.

A growth engine

Take a business that grew on content and word of mouth and put real marketing behind it.

These are our plans and priorities, not promises. What we build, and when, depends on how much we raise, who we hire and what we learn along the way.

What we plan to build first

Five product priorities for this round, in order. They are plans, not guarantees.

  1. Better AI power data analysis

CoachCat reads the power file, finds every effort and tells the athlete how it went and what to do next.

  2. Coaching tools, with AI analytics for coaches

What coaches rely on today, plus AI tools that do the deep dive across every athlete for them.

  3. Motivational feedback that builds good training habits and consistency

Streaks, encouragement and coaching nudges that keep athletes showing up, because consistency is what makes them faster.

  4. More integrations with an Aggregate Data Strategy

More bike computers, watches and wearables, so CoachCat works with whatever an athlete rides.

  5. A coach with better memory and context

Goals, history and the last conversation, remembered and used as context in every answer, without repeating yourself.

Why we want athletes and customers on the cap table

Because you get it. You do not need this opportunity explained to you. You've experienced what it is like to improve from coaching.

You have felt it work

You followed the plan and watched your own numbers move. You have seen first hand how much you improved, and you can connect that to the business opportunity in a way no outside investor can.

You know the market

You know how many riders want to get faster, what a human coach costs, and what riders already pay for their training software. You can see how big this market is because you are in it.

You see what the technology unlocks

You know what it means when a coach can read every power file, remember every conversation and work with all your gear. Building that technology is how we plan to win.

How investing works

  1. Request the deck

Use the sign on sheet below to email Frank. He sends you the deck, the financial model and the terms.

  2. Ask Frank anything

Book a call with the founder. Bring your hardest questions about the product, the numbers and the risks.

  3. Confirm you are accredited

A letter from your CPA, attorney or financial advisor works. So does a quick check through a verification service.

  4. Sign and fund

Once pledges reach $1M, everyone signs online and wires at one closing. The minimum is $50,000.

  5. We grow the company

The money goes to work on growth, the coach platform and engineering. You get regular investor updates, good news and bad.

  6. The goal: an exit

Investors in a private company are paid when it is sold or goes public. Our goal is to get there in about five years. That is a goal, not a promise. It could take longer, it may never happen, and you could lose your whole investment.

Who can invest

Because we are announcing this round in public, the law requires us to verify that every investor is accredited before they invest.

You are an accredited investor if any one of these is true.

  • Your income was over $200,000 in each of the last two years, or over $300,000 together with your spouse or partner, and you expect the same this year.
  • Your net worth is over $1 million, alone or with your spouse or partner, not counting your primary home.
  • You hold a Series 7, Series 65 or Series 82 license in good standing.

Entities such as trusts, family offices and companies can qualify too. Ask us if you are not sure.

A note from Frank

Frank Overton, founder of FasCat, with the Boulder Flatirons behind him

I started coaching cyclists more than 20 years ago and it has been a dream come true to help athletes achieve their goals. Every person who has invested in this company since 2021 rides a bike. That is not an accident. Cyclists understand what we are building because they have felt it in their legs.

CoachCat puts that coaching in the hands of any athlete for $35 a month. The business pays its own way today, and it got here on content and word of mouth. This round is fuel to grow faster.

I still firmly believe in one on one coaching, and so does everyone here. The problem is that coaching is expensive because coaches are drowning in data. Hours that should go to athletes go to downloading files, reading power charts, and digging through numbers.

So part of what we are building is a set of software tools for coaches that we aim to make better than anything on the market today. AI handles the analytics. The coach gets back to the work only a human can do: talking and riding with their athletes, teaching skills, and watching them race. A great coach doing even better work, for more athletes.

I would rather raise it from athletes who use the product than from anyone else. If that is you, request the deck and let us talk.

Questions, answered straight

What does "pledged" mean on the progress bar?

Pledged means an investor has told us they intend to invest. A pledge is not binding until documents are signed, and no money has been collected yet.

When does money actually come in?

We do not take money in piece by piece. Once pledges reach at least $1M, every investor signs and funds at one closing. The $1.25M goal and the November 1 closing date are targets and can change.

Who can invest?

Accredited investors only. In plain words that means income over $200,000 (or $300,000 with a spouse or partner) in each of the last two years, or a net worth over $1 million not counting your primary home. The law requires us to verify this before anyone invests.

How does verification work, and how long does it take?

Most investors are verified in a few days. A short letter from your CPA, attorney or financial advisor works. So does an online verification service, where you upload tax returns or account statements. We never need to see your full finances ourselves.

What is the minimum?

$50,000.

What happens after I request the deck?

Frank sends you the deck, the financial model and the terms, and offers a call. Requesting the deck does not commit you to anything.
