Hey guys, coach Ricky here. I want to give you six bad habits that I see as a coach. Number one, not sticking to the plan. There's a plan for a reason, stick to it.
If you don't, you might just be shooting yourself in the foot. Number two, too many group rides. Can't tell you how many times I see athletes putting in a group ride instead of doing their workout and it's just plain too much intensity. Three, not eating enough before, during, and after your ride.
If you want to train like a pro, you got to fuel like a pro. Number four, changing things race week. I can't tell you how many times I've seen an athlete try new shoes, try new gels, do something different on race week. Test it out way beforehand, keep it simple, do the same thing.
Number five, going out too hard. You've got plenty of data, you've done the training, you've done simulations, stick to the power that you know you can do. You're not suddenly going to be able to do 400 watts just on race day. Number six, only riding erg mode.
If your races are going to be outside, you got to train outside a bit too. Learn how to do intervals outside, learn how to use that lap button on the computer, and don't just ride erg mode indoors. Thanks, guys.
