'Serious training' is often perceived as doing nothing but strictly power-based intervals. And, don't get us wrong, those are important! But being able to drive a bike - in a bunch, over terrain, around corners - is vital, as is knowing how to read a group or a race.
And just like practicing intervals will build your strength, practicing skills will build your competence and your confidence.
